Where Is Your Loyalty

When a land acts faithlessly against me, God says, I will break its supply of bread and send famine upon it.
The vocabulary is covenant vocabulary. Famine, devastation, plague, pestilence, being driven from the land - that list comes straight out of Leviticus 26.
And underneath it is a binary. In Heiser's terms, people are either estranged from God or else Yahweh is the focus of their believing loyalty. There is no third category where you are technically included and actually elsewhere.
