The Church Must Be as United as Its Enemy

The powers of darkness operate with terrifying coordination — one purpose, one strategy, no infighting. They never let personal ambition impede the mission. That single-minded unity is one of their greatest strengths.
Against such an enemy, the only counter-strategy is for each member of God's people to play their specific, indispensable role. Reconciliation between estranged believers, the return of someone who had drifted, the willingness to simply show up for one another — these are not minor things. Unity is not merely an ideal; it is the mechanism of victory.
On the night of his betrayal, Jesus prayed for exactly this: “Father, keep them in your name, that they may be one, even as we are one” (John 17:11). Paul calls the church “one body with many members” (1 Cor 12:12), each part gifted for the health of the whole (Rom 12:4–8). Theological infighting and self-interest within the body of Christ are not merely unfortunate — they are strategically catastrophic for the mission God has given us.
