Philo Called the Logos a Second God

Philo of Alexandria was a devout first-century Jew, steeped in the Scriptures, writing while Jesus was alive. He was no Christian and had no motive to make room for one.
And he calls the Logos deuteros theos - a second God. Not a metaphor he stumbles into. The phrase is his.
Put the languages side by side and the same figure keeps appearing. Hebrew dabar, the word of the LORD, which comes to prophets and sometimes seems to arrive as a person. Greek logos, Philo's second God. Aramaic memra, the one who walks in the garden and goes before Israel.
Three languages, three vocabularies, one idea: God's Word as an agent, nearly a person, acting where God acts.
Then John writes that the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and the Word became flesh.
