Jesus Claims the Title at His Trial

Under oath, the high priest asks directly: are you the Christ, the Son of God? Jesus answers, and the answer is a quotation.
"You have said so. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven."
That is Daniel 7 and Psalm 110 fused into one sentence. The reading: "Jesus has just claimed to be the cloud rider, the deity figure, the second" power in heaven.
And the reaction confirms it. Caiaphas does not ask for clarification. He tears his robes and calls it blasphemy - the response to a claim of deity, not to a claim of being an anointed king. Messiahship was not a capital charge. This was.
Jesus did not pick a title at random. He picked the one his accusers would recognise instantly.
