Yahoel: The Name Inside a Name

The Apocalypse of Abraham is a Jewish text, roughly first or second century, and it contains one of the clearest pre-Christian pictures of a second power.
God introduces his principal angel with a line that echoes Exodus directly: "This is my name... which I have put in him." The angel's name is Yahoel. Break it apart and you get Yah - the divine name - plus El, God.
No other angel anywhere in Second Temple literature is named with the Tetragrammaton embedded in it. This is not a devout naming convention. It is a deliberate statement that this figure carries the Ineffable Name in the way Exodus 23 said the Angel did.
Which matters for what came next. The framework the apostles used to describe Jesus was not assembled after the resurrection. It was sitting in Jewish texts, waiting.
