Both Powers Were Holy

The moment people hear "two powers in heaven" some reach for Zoroastrianism - a good deity and an evil one, locked in symmetry. That has to be shut down immediately.
"It is important to note that the two powers were both holy. This is not dualism, where two equal deities exist, one good, the other evil."
Neither is this two gods competing. The second power is not a rival, not a challenger, not a dark mirror. Both figures are Yahweh. The distinction is between the God who cannot be seen and the same God made visible - and everything the visible one does is the will of the one who sent him.
The Old Testament is comfortable with this in ways that startle modern readers. Genesis has Yahweh on earth raining fire from Yahweh in heaven, in a single sentence, with no explanation offered.
