Temporal Judgment foreshadows Eternal Ruin

"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell." This verse from Matthew’s Gospel calls us to reorient our fears from the temporary to the eternal. Human power, though it can inflict great suffering and even death upon our physical bodies, has no power over our eternal destiny. Our ultimate fear should not be of earthly oppressors but of God, the only one who holds the power over both our physical and spiritual existence. This divine authority over eternal life and death demands our utmost reverence and obedience.
