Ezekiel 40:5 declares, "And behold, there was a wall all around the outside of the temple area, and the length of the measuring reed was six long cubits, each being a cubit and a handbreadth; so he measured the thickness of the wall, one reed; and the height, one reed." This verse, along with Ezekiel 43:13, stands out because it is one of the only two instances in Ezekiel's elaborate temple vision where a height dimension is explicitly given. For the vast majority of the structures described, from gates and chambers to courts and porticos, the prophet provides detailed lengths and widths, but remains silent on their vertical measurements. This striking omission is not a mere oversight; it is a significant feature of the vision itself, guiding our understanding of its true nature.
