Misread 27: Heaven Final Home

Our ultimate hope, as revealed in scripture, is not an ethereal escape from the physical world but a profound resurrection into a new creation. Scripture teaches that the perishable will be raised imperishable, and our current bodily existence will be transformed into glory. This is profoundly articulated in 1 Corinthians 15:42-49: "What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable... The last Adam became a life-giving spirit... we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven." This passage clearly speaks of a resurrection transformation where our present limitations are overcome by an imperishable, glorified existence.
This hope is underscored by the longing inherent in creation itself and the promises concerning our future. Romans 8:18-25 explains that "The sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us," indicating that creation groans, awaiting its own liberation alongside us, who anticipate "bodily redemption." Furthermore, Revelation 21:1-5 culminates this vision by declaring, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man... Behold, I am making all things new." It is within this renewed creation, with God intimately present, that our final destiny is realized—a comprehensive making new of all things, not an abandoning of God’s world.
