Misread 24: Demons Everywhere

The core teaching here is a balanced perspective on spiritual warfare: do not make every struggle a demon, and do not deny demons exist. This means that while some of the difficulties you face may indeed have a demonic origin, it is also important not to attribute every problem, temptation, or hardship to a demon. At the same time, the reality of evil spiritual forces is affirmed.
This instruction is grounded in biblical witness regarding spiritual opposition and human responsibility. The Scripture reveals tangible manifestations of evil spirits, as seen in Mark 5:1-13, where Jesus directly confronts and exercises authority over a multitude of unclean spirits, who declare, "My name is Legion, for we are many... and the unclean spirits came out and entered the pigs..." Furthermore, Ephesians 6:10-18 calls believers to be prepared for spiritual battle, exhorting them to "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil." This passage outlines the spiritual provisions by which you can resist the devil's tactics. However, James 1:14-15 also clarifies that inward desires are a source of temptation: "Let no one say when he is tempted, I am being tempted by God... desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin..." This reveals that not all struggles originate externally from demonic forces; many stem from within a person through their own disordered desires.
Understanding these biblical truths helps you cultivate discernment in your faith. It prevents both the extreme of demonizing every problem you encounter, which can lead to unnecessary fear and misdiagnosis, and the extreme of denying the actual existence and influence of demonic forces, which can leave you unprepared for genuine spiritual attack. By recognizing the various sources of temptation and struggle—both external spiritual opposition and internal human desire—you are better equipped to seek appropriate solutions and stand firm in your faith, whether that means resisting the devil or taking responsibility for your own choices and desires.
