Logos - Word Made Flesh

The Apostle John proclaims a profound truth in John 1:14: "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory..." This statement reveals that the divine Word, the very expression of God Himself, took on human form and established His presence among humanity. It signifies a radical transformation where the eternal and transcendent God became intimately present within our earthly existence.
John's presentation of Jesus in his Gospel account highlights Jesus as this "creative Word," the source of all existence. He is also identified as the "true light," illuminating the world, and most significantly, the "tabernacling presence of God among humanity." This means that in Jesus, God's dwelling place is established among people, much like the tabernacle in ancient Israel symbolized God's presence. Through Jesus, the glory of God, which is His inherent majesty and splendor, is now made visible to us in a tangible way.
This understanding profoundly shapes our view of God and our relationship with Him. When we recognize Jesus as the creative Word who "became flesh and tabernacled among us," we see that God did not remain distant but actively entered into our world. The glory of God is no longer a concept far removed but is embodied in the incarnate Son, Jesus, who is depicted as being "full of grace and truth." This reality invites us to encounter God's grace and truth directly through His Son, knowing that His divine presence has made its home among us.
