Let reverence slow the decision

There is a detail in this verse that most translations smooth over. Heiser points it out: "holy one there is plural." It can legitimately be read as the knowledge of the holy ones - and he notes that this gives a little heavenly credit to the divine council, if the plural is what is meant. Proverbs 30:3 has the same construction.
Either way, the shape of the proverb holds. Wisdom does not begin with information. It begins with knowing who you are standing in front of. Which is why reverence slows things down: you do not make decisions the same way once you have registered the size of the room.
