Judgment With Cause

Survivors will come out of Jerusalem, God says, and when you see their conduct you will know that I have not done without cause all that I have done.
The survivors are the evidence. When the next wave of exiles arrives in Babylon, they will confirm that what Ezekiel had been saying was true.
And the cause is named. It was the idolatry going on in God's own house, in God's own place. Not a general decline - a specific desecration of sacred space.
