Grief for Impending Doom

God tells Ezekiel to groan - to groan with breaking heart and bitter grief, in front of people, until they ask him why.
It is a sign act, and the grief is the bait. When they ask what is wrong, the answer is ready: because of the news that it is coming.
The background is that they had stopped taking him seriously, dismissing him as a maker of parables. So he stops explaining and starts grieving where they can see it.
