God Still Wants Them to Turn

Ezekiel is told to pack an exile's bag in daylight, dig through a wall at night, and carry his belongings out where everyone can see. Then God says: perhaps they will understand, though they are a rebellious house.
Perhaps is a striking word to hear from God, and it raises an obvious question about foreknowledge - one Heiser takes up directly when he reaches this verse.
What the sign act shows is intent. The performance is staged for people the same passage describes as having eyes to see and seeing not. God keeps addressing them anyway.
