God as Trinity: Why It Is Not Three Gods

The opposite wrong turn treats the Father, the Son and the Spirit as three distinct deities - not three persons of one God, but three Gods.
That collapses under everything this series has already covered. God's unity, his uniqueness and his incomparability all rule it out.
The argument is worth following slowly, because it uses the attributes directly. You cannot have three creators. You cannot have three beings who are omnipotent. You cannot have three who are omniscient. Those attributes are unique by definition - uniqueness belongs to one deity, one divine essence, not to three separate gods. Something cannot be incomparable if there are two others just like it.
So the attributes of God belong to one deity, not three. And yet Scripture still presents three persons. Tritheism is not the answer, because it saves the three by giving up the one.
This is why the earlier posters were not just background. Settle what uniqueness means, and tritheism is already excluded before you reach the New Testament.
