The Attributes of God: Infinitude

Infinitude means that God is unlimited and can never be limited. Not currently unlimited, with the possibility of that changing - never able to be limited at all.
The attribute sits close to his being everywhere at all times, and some theologians label it God's immensity instead. The two words are pointing at the same reality from slightly different angles: no boundary can be drawn around him.
Solomon reaches for this at the dedication of the temple, and he does it by undercutting his own building project. Will God really dwell on the earth? Heaven, and the highest heaven, cannot contain him - how much less this house I have built. He has just finished the most magnificent structure in Israel's history and his first instinct is to say it is far too small.
That is the right instinct. Anything you build, think, or imagine about God is a container. And the container is always too small.
