The Attributes of God: Eternality

Eternality is the attribute of having no beginning and no ending. Psalm 90 says it in one line: from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.
Because God is uncreated, this goes further than simply lasting a very long time. In his own nature he stands outside time altogether. Time is part of what was made. He is not inside the thing he created.
Then comes the part worth sitting with. God relates to people who do live inside time, and in order to do that he voluntarily places himself within time and space. He makes appointments. He waits. He acts on a particular day. But he is never trapped there - he remains independent of it and can step back out. He enters time on our behalf; he is not subject to it.
That is why you can speak to him now and he is not hurrying. And it is why promises about the future are not him hoping things work out. He is already there.
