The Attributes of God: Uncreatedness

Everything created had a start. The Creator did not.
God is the only uncreated being in all of reality. Look at the places Scripture mentions the beginning and you find the same pattern every time: when the beginning begins, he is already there. Genesis opens with him present before anything is made. John opens the same way.
There is a second half to this that often gets missed. God is not only uncreated, he is also unbegotten. No greater power fathered him, generated him, or produced him. He has no parent, because he was not born. There is no story behind God.
This is worth holding onto when this series talks about other spiritual beings. The gap between God and every other being in the unseen world is not that he is stronger or older or higher up a ladder. It is that they were made and he was not. That is a difference in kind, not in degree - and no amount of power would ever close it.
