The Attributes of God: His Existence Is Assumed

Open the Bible expecting an argument for God's existence and you will not find one. There is no chapter making the case. Genesis begins with God already there and simply gets on with it.
That is not a gap. It is a deliberate starting point. Scripture treats the existence of God as something already shown, not something still to be established - and the thing it points at is creation. Paul says what can be known about God is plain to people, because God has shown it to them. His invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen ever since the world was made.
Notice what that means. The evidence is not hidden in a library. It is the world itself, in front of everyone, all the time.
So when Scripture wants to talk about God, it does not start by proving him. It starts by describing him. That is what the rest of this series does.
