God Delegates, and Stays Sovereign

Micaiah's vision raises the obvious objection. If God has already decided Ahab will die, why ask the room?
Because Scripture keeps holding two things together that we usually make compete. The outcome is decreed. The agents genuinely act. Ahab's death was settled; how it happened was worked out by beings making real proposals.
Peter does the same thing in one sentence at Pentecost - delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, and you crucified him. Both clauses, no hedging, no dissolving either side.
And when Isaiah hears "whom shall I send, and who will go for us?", the question is real enough that a volunteer is required. God does not need help. He has decreed that his purposes run through participants.
