Psalm 89 Rules Out Human Judges

The usual way to keep Psalm 82 comfortable is to say its "gods" are human judges. Psalm 89 makes that difficult, because it describes the same assembly and tells you where it meets.
"Let the heavens praise your wonders, O LORD, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones! For who in the skies can be compared to the LORD? Who among the sons of God is like the LORD?"
The comparison is not being drawn in a courtroom in Jerusalem. It is being drawn in the skies, among the sons of God. And the point of the question is that nobody there compares.
this passage "explicitly contradicts the notion of a divine council in which the elohim are humans." Job agrees - the sons of God were present at creation, shouting for joy, long before any human judiciary existed.
