Everyday 27: God's Will

God’s will is not a cryptic puzzle to solve through hidden signs, but rather the visible path of wisdom set for those who belong to Him. As Romans 12:1-2 states, we are to "Present your bodies as a living sacrifice... be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God." This means discerning God's will is intrinsically linked to our worship, our refusal to conform to worldly patterns, and the ongoing renewal of our minds, which transforms us from within.
The Christian life is about becoming who you already are in Christ, not about chasing after secret codes or obscure symbols. Our identity has been made new through Jesus, and it is from this renewed identity that God's will becomes discernible. Obedience is not a mere technique to extract guidance from God; instead, it is the natural allegiance of those who have already surrendered their lives to the King. As Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding... and he will make straight your paths." The Holy Spirit actively guides God's servants not by waiting for visions in idleness, but by directing them as they are already engaged in loyal dedication and service, as depicted in Acts 16:6-10 where "They were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia... a vision appeared to Paul... Come over to Macedonia and help us."
Therefore, your understanding of God's guidance should be shaped by your worship, your pursuit of wisdom, and your steadfast allegiance as a person made new in Christ. Live out your transformed identity fully, trusting that your King will make your paths straight as you walk in diligent obedience. This way of living is how you discern and align with God's will, flowing naturally from who you are in Him.
