Enoch's Prophecy Quoted

Jude does not paraphrase. He quotes 1 Enoch 1:9 almost in its entirety, and attributes it to "the seventh from Adam."
What is worth noticing is the verse right before the one he takes. 1 Enoch 1:8 is itself an elaboration of the Aaronic blessing - the Lord bless you and keep you, make his face shine upon you - reworked and applied to the righteous and chosen at the end of days. So the passage Jude reaches into is already doing biblical theology, already reading Numbers 6 forward into the last day.
Jude picks up the next verse, where that same coming brings judgment.
