What the Dead Sea Scrolls Actually Show

The Dead Sea Scrolls do not prove that every biblical word was copied without variation.
They reveal something more interesting.
Many biblical scrolls closely resemble the later Masoretic tradition, demonstrating remarkable continuity across more than a thousand years. Others preserve genuine differences in spelling, additions, omissions and textual form.
The evidence therefore shows both stability and diversity—not perfect uniformity and not uncontrolled corruption.
That is a stronger conclusion because it respects what the manuscripts actually show.
