The Apostle Paul commends the Bereans as “more noble” because “they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so” (Acts 17:11). If the pulpit prioritizes popular sentiments over profound scriptural teaching, the congregation may unknowingly embrace subtle substitutions for the true gospel. This erosion is precisely why the Apostle Paul warned against remaining children, “tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes” (Ephesians 4:14).
Therefore, it is essential for you to actively pursue a deep, accurate knowledge of the true gospel through personal study. "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15).
