Self-Divinization

The counterfeit gospel promotes the idea that humanity can achieve divinity and overcome its limitations, including death and the physical body, through technological advancements. This concept, often called the "Singularity," suggests that we can engineer our own immortality and become like gods through our own power, presenting it as the next stage in human evolution.
This modern ambition is a re-packaging of an ancient temptation, directly echoing the serpent’s lie to Eve in Genesis 3:5, where it promised, “you will be like God.” It also mirrors the hubris described in Isaiah 14:13-14, where the “morning star” declared, "I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high… I will make myself like the Most High.” This grasping for god-like status through self-assertion has consistently been presented as a path to downfall. In stark contrast, Philippians 2:5-11 reveals Christ Jesus, who though in the form of God, “emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant” and humbling himself to the point of death on a cross. Because of this obedient humility, God “highly exalted him.”
Therefore, rather than attempting to climb to glory through our own efforts and engineering, our path to true exaltation and likeness to God lies in following the example of Christ. We do not achieve ultimate destiny by grasping for it, but by humbly receiving it as a gift from God. Any attempt at self-divinization is merely a repetition of the Tower of Babel, built with new tools, but destined for the same outcome.
