The Goodness of the Creator

The core truth of God’s nature is found in His inherent goodness. "The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made," and "the LORD is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works," as Psalm 145:9 and 17 declare. This goodness extends to everything He has created. James 1:17 reinforces this, stating that "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights," and 1 John 1:5 decisively proclaims that "God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." These verses unequivocally establish that the Creator is entirely good, without any flaw or malevolence.
This stands in stark contrast to the deceptive idea that the God who created the physical world is a lesser, flawed, or even malicious deity—a "Demiurge" who is jealous, petty, and seeks to keep humanity imprisoned. This false teaching often misrepresents the God of the Old Testament as an antagonist, claiming that the true God had no involvement in creation. Such assertions are a slander against the Creator, akin to the ancient lies told by the serpent. The world God made, in its very existence and design, stands as a testament to His kindness and benevolent nature.
Understanding this truth should profoundly shape your perception of God and the world around you. You are not trapped in a world made by an indifferent or cruel overlord; rather, you are a beloved creation of a benevolent Father. Recognizing that every truly good and perfect gift comes from Him allows you to approach life with gratitude and trust, knowing that the Maker of heaven and earth is not your jailer but your loving Father, whose goodness is evident in all His works.
