Human Destiny

The common falsehood suggests that humanity's divine nature is an inherent state, implying we are already divine and simply need to "awaken" to this truth. This perspective redefines glorification as a process of self-realization or even technological self-transcendence, effectively positioning the self as its own savior. However, the scripture plainly states a different truth about our ultimate destiny, highlighting that it is God's gift. Romans 8:30 declares that "those whom he justified he also glorified," confirming that true glory is a result of being made right with God, not an intrinsic quality we possess apart from Him.
This deceptive view of human divinity stands in contrast to the biblical teaching that depicts human destiny as genuinely glorious, yet entirely dependent upon God's gracious provision through Christ, rather than being an achievement of humanity. The promises given to us are grand and transformative. As 1 John 3:2 reveals, "when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is," indicating a future transformation that originates from beholding Christ. Furthermore, 2 Peter 1:4 speaks of us becoming "partakers of the divine nature," but this participation is granted "by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises," specifically "having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire." This partaking of the divine nature is not about becoming God, but about being remade in fellowship with Him, freed from the corruption that taints our current existence.
Therefore, our glorification is not a substitute for salvation, but rather its divine completion. You are not meant to discover some hidden godliness within yourself. Instead, your hope and destiny lie in being profoundly transformed by the one true God. This means trusting in God's work in Christ, allowing Him to justify you, and anticipating the glorious purification and transformation that awaits you through His grace alone.
