The Gospel Is Royal News

The gospel is not secret knowledge, moral improvement or escape from creation. It is royal news.
Yahweh came in the person of Jesus. He died for human sin, rose bodily, defeated the hostile powers and was enthroned as Lord over every nation. All who give him believing loyalty are welcomed into God's family.
Paul passes on what he received: "Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures", and "he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures." The powers were not spared: "He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him." And Peter proclaims the result: "God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified."
Scripture links:
- 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 - "Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures"
- Colossians 2:15 - "He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him"
- Acts 2:36 - "God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified"
This is the good news the counterfeits cannot replace: the King has come, and he reigns.
