Ezekiel 40:2 declares, "In visions of God he took me to the land of Israel, and set me down on a very high mountain, on which was a structure like a city to the south." This description of being placed on a "very high mountain" is not merely a geographical detail but employs what is known as cosmic mountain language. This imagery elevates the temple's significance beyond its physical location, indicating its supreme importance as God's sacred domain. It signifies a place where heaven and earth meet, a point of access to the divine, and the center of God's redemptive plan for His people.
