Copying Differences Are Real

Christians do not need to pretend every scribe was incapable of making a mistake.
Second Timothy 3:16 describes Scripture as God-breathed. That is a claim about its divine source. It does not say every later handwritten copy would be produced by mechanical dictation.
Jeremiah 36 gives us a striking example. After the king burned Jeremiah’s scroll, another was produced—and “many similar words were added” (Jeremiah 36:32).
God worked through real authors, scribes, memories and historical circumstances. Human fingerprints do not automatically cancel divine inspiration.
Does recognising the human process weaken Scripture—or help us understand what inspiration actually means?
