You are already complete

The next verse turns it towards you. Because everything God is dwells in Christ, and you are in him, you are complete.
Your standing is not a score you are slowly building. It comes from who he is, and it means you belong to God and to his family. Paul adds that Christ is the head of every ruler and authority - so there is no power above him able to reopen the question.
