Already moved, not just promised

Paul does not say God will one day rescue you. He says it has already happened. The verb is a completed action: you were taken out of the domain of darkness and moved into the kingdom of the Son. The kingdom is already here, even though it is not yet here in full. That is why the Christian life is lived from a position you have already been given, not towards one you still have to earn.
