The Enduring Conflict: Seed of the Woman vs. Seed of the Nachash

Genesis 3:15 sets two lines against each other - the offspring of the woman and the offspring of the serpent. That conflict runs through the whole Bible.
But be careful how you read offspring. John says the children of God have God's seed abiding in them, and calls it a spiritual lineage, not a genetic one. When Jesus calls the Pharisees a brood of vipers, he is describing allegiance, not ancestry.
The sources are explicit that this is not a physical seed. That matters, because a great deal of what circulates online about the seed of the serpent is bloodline speculation the texts do not support.
