Serpent's Crushing: God's Victory in Believers

Paul closes Romans by telling the church that God will soon crush Satan under your feet. Most readers hear Genesis 3:15 behind it, and they are right.
But look at whose feet. The pronoun is plural. Paul is not describing something Jesus does alone - he is describing the church sharing in it. The crushing of the serpent is participatory.
One guard rail, because the sources put it there. This is not a promise of present power over the devil. It is eschatological, and it runs along a cross-shaped road. The victory is real, and it is not triumphalist.
