Armageddon: A Cosmic Battle at God's Dwelling

Har-Magedon puts a Hebrew phrase into Greek letters. Read it back into Hebrew and you get har moed - the mount of assembly, the mountain where God lives and where his council serves him.
That exact phrase turns up in Isaiah 14, on the lips of the rebel who wanted to sit there. The final conflict is staged at the very place the first rebellion tried to seize.
So this is not a battle that merely involves God. It is a war over his dwelling, and the combatants are not only human.
