Adam, Israel, Moses: Profiles of God's Son-Servant

Adam, Israel, Moses and the coming king are described using the same set of terms, and once you notice the pattern you cannot unsee it.
Each is called God's son. Each is called a servant. Each is placed in a role of rule or deliverance on God's behalf. Each fails or suffers, and each story runs toward exile and death.
Israel is the clearest case - God tells Pharaoh to let his son go. Isaiah names Israel as the servant, chosen and not cast off. Moses holds a special version of the same office, as the nation's appointed deliverer and ruler.
The pattern is not decoration. It is how the Old Testament trains you to recognise the Messiah when he arrives, because he arrives wearing all of it at once.
