Humanity Destined for Divine Family and Rule

Psalm 8 asks what man is, that God is mindful of him, and answers that God made him a little lower than - and there the translations part company.
The Hebrew says elohim. The Septuagint renders it angels, and Hebrews quotes the Greek. Both are doing honest work, but the Hebrew is the sharper claim: humanity was made a little lower than the heavenly beings, not a little above the animals.
And lower is about order of being, not worth. A spirit being is superior to an embodied earthly being. That is the current arrangement, not the permanent one.
Hebrews 2 then says the world to come is not subjected to angels. It is subjected to humans. Paul describes the change as a post-resurrection corporeality - not a different person, a different kind of body. On the new earth, glorified humans outrank angels.
