Unveiled Glory: God's Presence and Human Limitations

Ezekiel sees a throne like sapphire, and seated above it a likeness with a human appearance. The glory is a human figure seated on the throne. It has form - not a light, not a formless spirit.
Daniel sees the same kind of scene: the Ancient of Days takes his seat, his throne is fiery flames, its wheels were burning fire. It is the same iconography.
And the same sapphire appears at Sinai, where Moses and the elders go up and see the God of Israel with something like a pavement of sapphire stone under his feet.
