Believers Co-Rule with Christ, Surpassing Angels

Jesus says the one who overcomes will receive the morning star. In the last chapter of Revelation he says that he is the morning star.
So the promise is a share in his own authority - he intends to share that authority with his children. Not a prize handed out beside the throne, but a place beside him on it.
Paul adds the comparison people find hardest to swallow. Do you not know that we are to judge angels? Human believers end up with a higher status in the new earth than the angelic host, because angels are not the ones who inherit and rule the new Eden.

Angels are extraordinary. The story still does not end with them. It ends with a restored humanity.
