Antichrist and Gog: Not the Same Figure

It depends on how you read Revelation, and it is worth knowing why.
On a straight futurist reading the answer is no. The Beast is captured and thrown into the lake of fire in Revelation 19:20, before Gog appears in chapter 20. Two figures, two events, in sequence.
But that is not how Heiser reads Revelation. He teaches recapitulation across chapters 16 to 20 - the same conflict described more than once from different angles. On that reading the two battles are one, and identifying Gog with the Beast becomes possible.
So the question is not settled by the verses alone. The answer follows from the framework you bring to them, and saying so is more honest than picking one and sounding certain.
