Bible Connections 25: Foreknowledge and Choice

Peter tells the crowd that Jesus was delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God - and in the same sentence, that they crucified him by the hands of lawless men.
Both halves stand. God knew. They are guilty. The sentence does not choose between them.
The distinction that holds it together is simple enough to state and hard to exhaust: knowing in advance is not the same as causing. God foreknew the fall. That foreknowledge did not propel the event.
Scripture does not tidy this into a formula. It puts divine plan and human guilt in the same verse and leaves them both standing, and careful readers still find the underlying question live - God is truly in control, and we are still responsible agents somehow.
