Bible Connections 22: Gospel Not Private

Matthew's Great Commission starts a verse earlier than most people quote it. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me - therefore go.
That claim is aimed at somebody. The authority of the gods of the nations, handed their territories at Babel, has been nullified. The commission is the explicit mission statement of the Babel reversal: go and take the nations back.
Paul adds the audience nobody expects. The church exists so that the manifold wisdom of God might be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. Your gathering is a notice served on the unseen world.
And Revelation shows the result - a people from every tribe, language, people and nation, which is the Table of Nations unpacked.
