The Apostles Used a Translation

If translations were second-class, the New Testament never got the memo.
The Septuagint "is the thing that is quoted most in the New Testament by Jesus and the apostles and the New Testament writers - they're quoting things mostly in Greek."
And they do not hedge when they do it. Paul writes that all Scripture is God-breathed to a man whose Bible was Greek. The Ethiopian official is reading Isaiah 53 in Greek when Philip climbs into the chariot, and Philip does not correct his edition before preaching from it.
There is comfort in that for anyone reading an English Bible. The apostolic practice was to preach from the text the hearers actually had, in the language they actually read.
