Acts Theology 32: Gentile Stipulations

Acts 15 records the Jerusalem Council's decision not to trouble Gentile believers with the entirety of the Mosaic Law, but rather to ask them to abstain from things polluted by idols, sexual immorality, strangled animals, and blood, as stated in Acts 15:19 and 29. These stipulations ensured continued fellowship between Jewish and Gentile believers without making adherence to the Law a prerequisite for salvation.
These four prohibitions required of Gentiles were not arbitrary; they are found in Leviticus 17-18.
