Acts Theology 8: Believers Judge Angels

Psalm 82 pictures God standing in the divine council, judging corrupt spiritual authorities who were assigned to govern the nations - and pronouncing a sentence on them: "I said, you are gods... nevertheless, like men you shall die" (Psalm 82:6-7). Paul picks up that same courtroom scene in 1 Corinthians 6:2-3: "Do you not know that we are to judge angels?" The saints in the age to come don't just watch that judgment - they participate in it. The corrupt cosmic administrators of Psalm 82 are removed, and their governing role is handed to glorified humanity instead. Revelation 2:26-27 confirms the same trajectory: the one who overcomes is promised authority to rule the nations - the very authority once held by the powers Psalm 82 condemns.
This matters because your future isn't passive. The rebellious powers behind the world's brokenness are being judged, and God's plan is to install his own people - not angels - as the ones who reign in their place.
